Mobile apps like Instagram, Leme Cam and others have been a tremendous trend in 2011 and still are this year. They created a new kind of social user who is able to post creative and amazing looking images very easily just with the smartphone's camera.  The next big thing and a hype in 2012 could be social video apps. They work similar to photo apps, but use video snippets. For these snippets all kinds of effects are available to manipulate video and sound. Socialcam and Viddy are such apps and already very popular too.
